Christmas on the Columbia Event Raises $10,000 for CDM Services
"Christmas on the Columbia", hosted on December 13th 2010 by Martel Wealth Advisors and sponsored by Westby Associates and Cinetopia drew nearly 100 people and raised $10,000 for the long-term care services of CDM. Janice Rhinehart spoke with passion about the journey that her family has taken since her husband Bill was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Bill has flourished at the CDM Adult Day Center, and he and several other family members encouraged Janice during her courageous sharing of such a difficult experience.
All attendees enjoyed food by Vinotopia Restaurant (within Cinetopia theater) and the spectacular views of the Christmas ships on the Columbia from the Martel Wealth Advisors offices. Dr. Michael Kissenger, founder of the Vancouver Wine & Jazz festival, volunteered his musical magic on the clarinet with a piano accompaniment.
Marti Sanders of CDM Services shared artwork done by CDM clients with dementia, along with the moving story behind each picture.
A wonderful evening of holiday magic was made even better by the amazing generousity of the attendees. Many thanks to everyone who sponsored and attended this event, and hopefully we will see you next year!
